CALGARY, ALBERTA

TELUS SKY

2020

Construction Value: $400 million

The architectural design of Telus Sky was a collaborative effort between the Canadian firm Dialog and the international architectural firm BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group). Rising to a height of approximately 222 meters (728 feet), Telus Sky stands as one of the tallest buildings in Calgary's skyline. It is a mixed-use development, combining commercial, office, and residential spaces within its sleek and innovative structure. Telus Sky's design emphasizes sustainability and environmental consciousness. It boasts various eco-friendly features, such as energy-efficient systems, optimized daylight usage, and sustainable materials. Notably, the building's facade is distinctive, featuring an innovative twist that adds to its contemporary appeal and helps reduce solar heat gain. This twist also creates a visual impact, setting Telus Sky apart from traditional skyscrapers. The building's name, "Telus Sky," derives from its principal tenant, Telus Communications, a prominent Canadian telecommunications company. They occupy a significant portion of the building, using it as their corporate headquarters.
